CHAPLAINS GROWTH
EQUIPPING WORKSHOPS FOR CHAPLAIN VOLUNTEERS
The Florida Baptist Convention offers Equipping Workshops for Chaplain Volunteers. These Workshops may be requested by Associations or Churches.
1. Basic Training for Chaplains - 4 hours crdeit toward certification.
The Basics Course addresses "What is Chaplaincy?", "Who is a Chaplain?", "What Does a Chaplain Do?", "How to Build Relationships with Management", "How to Develop and Maintain a Chaplaincy Ministry", "Resources for Ministry" and "Chaplain Certification and/or Endorsement". Go to Registration.
2. Emergency Services Chaplaincy Training - 10 hours of credit toward certification. The Emergency Services Chaplaincy course equips individuals who desire to serve as a chaplain following a disaster. The course addresses what a person needs to do before he/she enters a disaster environment, the types of disasters, how to minister in a disaster environment and what to do after they leave. The course includes training in assessment of the scene, safety concerns, ministering to different types of victims, basic crisis counseling, relationship with the Disaster Response Team and other Emergency Response personnel, what to take, what to expect and what to say. 3. Raising Your Attitude's Altitude Workshop - 6 hours credit toward certification. This Professional Growth course is the second in the series of courses for chaplain volunteers. The course addresses the Biblical Foundations for Attitude Formation, Personal Foundations for Attitude Formation, Attitude Formation for Quality Living, Maintaining Your Attitude's Altitude, and Tips for Quality Living. 4. The Art of Listening Seminar - 6 hours credit toward certification.
This Professional Growth Seminar will assist chaplains with building better counseling skills by improving their listening skills. The seminar provides three hours of training toward certification. Go to Registration.
5. Advanced Chaplain's Course - 10 hours credit toward certification. Total Self Awareness - Who Am I? Go to Registration.
NOTE: Each student receives a course completion certificate at the end of the Workshop.
